How a mission runs
Every Sentry runs the same four-beat loop, from the shelf it lives on to the carpet the cat chose as a toilet. It is a complete process. Nobody is surprised.
Sniff
The Olfactory Sniff Array™ takes two air samples at a 3 m standoff — left nostril, right nostril — and compares them against the cat's own baseline, recorded during the first-week familiarization flights. A cat's "good smell" and "tolerable smell" are different things. The Sentry knows which is which.
Track
If the verdict is dire, the Sentry locks on visually and acoustically and follows at a steady 4 m. Curtains, under-bed territory, and the top of the refrigerator are all within the engagement envelope. It never corners. It accompanies.
Mist
Mid-hover, from a 1 m standoff, it releases one 0.05 ml burst of the selected formula. That is less than a drop. It settles on the fur and is gone in an afternoon. The Sentry counts the burst, subtracts it from the payload, and holds position while the cat decides whether to be inconvenienced.
Retreat
Regardless of the cat's reaction, the Sentry disengages vertically and returns to its dock, where it logs the mission. Two meows of protest aborts the mission immediately under the Ethics Charter. Three meows aborts it and, per the letter of the charter, the Sentry offers a small apology beeping.

Before this can be called a product, it has to be called a good idea. So: rules.
The cat holds veto power
Mist is dispensed only when the cat is stationary and unbothered. Protest — any protest — cancels the burst. The cat's dignity is the load-bearing wall of the whole concept.
No spraying of the young, the old, or the guest cat
Kittens, cats over 12, and cats that live here part-time are flagged no-spray in the setup wizard. Some things are simply above perfume.
Prop guards, feather-soft thrust
Every unit is built for close-quarters living with the things cats do: zero exposed rotors, a maximum thrust the Sentry can't use for more than perfume delivery, and a soft rubber belly.
Quiet, always
A hovering Sentry is quieter than a purr at 1 m. The drones that can't meet that standard don't ship. We measured. Then we measured again, in the presence of a very unimpressed cat.
